Generator Fuel Types

Generators can operate using multiple fuel types. Natural gas, propane, diesel, and gasoline are all widely used. The safest fuel for use with a generator is natural gas and propane. Using propane or natural gas, allows you to hook your generator up to the lines y our home already uses. By using natural gas or propane, you avoid having to haul diesel or gasoline fuel to your generator, as well as avoiding high fuel prices!

Generator Clearance

Most cities or jurisdictions will have variation of the proper clearances recommended by the manufacturers. Typically: A minimum of 2ft from a property line, 5ft from building, and a minimum of 5ft from the gas meter is permissible.
